Sailing is my first remembrance of sinking fully into the present moment, over a decade ago. The ocean realigned me with my soul. I was leading 7 day sailing voyages for the Boy Scouts of America at the Florida High Adventure Sea Base, guiding 25 scouts on pirate schooners, when an awareness dawned on my senses. I had released fear, stress and anxiety. The ocean had empowered me to surrender fully. I founded This is Water in 2023 to pay homage to those adventures, incorporating mindfulness, rewilding, movement, creativity and connection into a community centered experience. Today, I take participants and groups out for single day trips, immersive off grid sails (4-8 days overnight), and can meet for one-on-one sessions in Marina del Rey. There are many ways to embrace the healing powers of water.
